I can't say I always love the feeling of my alarm waking me up at 4:20am to leave for a Laguna sunrise shoot, but I definitely never regret doing it!!! Bethlehem wanted a creative portrait shoot on the SoCal coast, and Laguna was the perfect beach location for our vision! Shooting with Bethlehem was so much fun because she was down to try all of my ideas and wasn't afraid to get in the water mid shoot! Whenever I'm doing creative shoots, I like to think of my job much more as directing, rather than posing for a more cinematic, movie-scene feel where the subject is moving and interacting with the setting, as opposed to stiff and posed looking at the camera. Even in January, the sun was shining and it felt like a warm summer day in Laguna and we were so thankful to be out enjoying it, and of course capturing the ocean magic!
